Resolution of the 16th National CBSE Sahodaya Conference
Hosted – Gurgaon Sahodaya School Cluster
09 to 11 December 2009

CBSE CCE

The Examination Reforms by the CBSE are timely and apt. For successful implementation, the introduction of the CCE Scheme by CBSE needs to be strengthened, institutionalized and carried forward into the implementation stage by ensuring sustainable teacher empowerment and capacity building in designing tasks for learning, framing good test items and developing appropriate strategies for documentation and assessment of co-scholastic domains.

Schools need to look beyond boundaries and teachers go beyond textbooks to create a learning environment conducive to real education. Sahodaya need to go beyond their own clusters and mentor other schools in a participative and collaborative mode.

“School needs to look beyond boundaries and teachers go beyond text books……” this looks like a another new year resolution. But why on earth they will do so? Where is the motivation?

Teaching will be considered a respectful profession if and only if there is some workable system for evaluation and reward of above average teachers. This applies to schools also. Why will the school strive for more if it is happy with the current setup. There should be some plan for all these.

This should start from encouraging teachers and adminstrators of schools to opt for higher education similar to the elevation of college teachers from lecturers to professors.

Even at entry levels there should be preference for teachers with MBA, MCA and especially there should be specialisation in MBA & MCA for Teaching.

There should be Grading system for Schools and Teachers similar to the students and based on the Gades of the schools and teachers they should be rewarded.

There needs proper research on this subject and few schools should be included initially for feed back before fully implementing the scheme. Long term plan should be generated with the help of expert. If given the due importance to the subject of human resource development and properly executed, there will be a great benefit for the Nation.

But the better part is that the changes and improvements being observed in the education system, shows they are moving in the right direction and the hopes of parents and students are rising. I have tried to put some of my thoughts with the right intentions. Respect and Best wishes for those incharge of the toughest job of grooming the future of the nation with the least motivations.
